A 2-day cycling getaway through nature, historic sites, and greenways.

DAY 1: Lille → Wervicq-Sud
35 km | Elevation gain: +90 m

Starting in Lille, this first stage immerses you in a peaceful, lush setting—ideal for beginning your cycling trip on a relaxed note.
The route first follows the Deûle River, taking the Chemin de Saint-André and then passing through the
Marquette-Iez-Lille area, offering beautiful views of the canal and its landscaped banks. This peaceful stretch allows you to gradually leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind while remaining in touch with the industrial and river history of the Lille metropolitan area.
The route then joins the Roubaix Canal, a true cycling backbone, which passes through Marcq-en-Barœul, Wasquehal, Roubaix, and Tourcoing in succession. Fully developed, this safe route showcases former textile sites, locks, and contemporary revitalization projects, all testaments to the rich industrial heritage of the Hauts-de-France region
On the outskirts of Tourcoing, the ride becomes even more nature-oriented as it takes the Ferrain Greenway toward Roncq and Halluin. This idyllic stretch, much loved by cyclists, winds through open fields and small wooded areas, offering the perfect setting for a relaxing break.
The route then reaches the banks of the Lys River, which gently accompany you for the final kilometers. As you pass through Bousbecque, the landscape opens up to a soothing countryside before arriving in Wervicq-Sud, a charming border town where a comfortable bed-and-breakfast welcomes you for a peaceful evening in a pleasant, green setting.

DAY 2: Wervicq-Sud → Lille
28 km | Elevation gain: +10 m

Starting from Wervicq-Sud, this stage takes you west along the Lys River, passing through the cross-border towns of Comines and Warneton, where you can admire the local heritage and the river’s peaceful banks. The route continues along the Deûle River, through Deûlémont—a charming rural hamlet perfect for a break—and then on to Quesnoy-sur-Deûle, with its Neo-Flemish-style town hall and the
Saint-Michel. You’ll then reach Wambrechies, where the marina and the grounds of Robersart Castle offer a cultural and relaxing stop before returning to Lille, where the redeveloped banks of the Deûle welcome you to the end of this loop.
