Fort du Vert Galant is one of a series of forts built by General Séré de Rivières around Lille in the aftermath of the 1870 war. Known as ‘single-ridge’ forts, they were constructed to protect Lille from a possible new invasion by Prussia and its German allies.

and Wednesday 9 September at 11am. - Please be there 10 minutes before the start of the tour.
- On presentation of a certificate, a reduced rate is available for: under-18s, students, jobseekers, RSA recipients, the over-62s, families of more than four, disabled people and their carers, and greeters.
