One of the best-preserved forts in the "stronghold of Lille," as it was known when it was built in 1880, it is a hidden treasure in the city. Spared from conflict, the fort has retained, with the exception of its cannons, its military attributes: its drawbridge, its caponiers, its powder magazines, and its barracks.
